CLUBS AND SOCIETIES: Masons support the Anthony Nolan Trust

THE Nyanza Masonic Lodge from Ilminster has donated £1,400 to the Anthony Nolan Trust.
Each year the Worshipful Master of Nyanza Lodge gets to choose the charities that they want to support during their term of office – known as Mastership.
Keith Green elected to support the Ilminster Brownies, Ilminster Youth Football Club, and the Anthony Nolan Trust which helps to saves the lives of people with blood cancer who need a stem cell or bone marrow transplant.
“All these charities are very close to mine and my wife Moira’s hearts,” he said.
“We raised the money from a charity lunch and a sponsored walk which raised £2,400. The Somerset Provincial Masonic Grand Lodge donated a further £1,000.”
This enabled the Nyanza Lodge to donate £1,000 each to Ilminster Brownies and Ilminster Youth Football and £1,400 to the Anthony Nolan Appeal.
“We were also able to donate £250 to the Ilminster Senior Citizens Lunch - we are delighted with the results,” added Mr Green.
