LEISURE: Easter Egg hunt at Ilminster Recreation Ground

NOTHING will stand in the way of young people wanting to win some chocolate and sweets – not even bad weather!
Children and their families went down to the Ilminster Recreation Ground – not hundreds it has to be said but enough to keep organisers happy – this morning (Sunday, March 27, 2016) for the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
This year’s event was co-ordinated by the Party on the Park organisers and Ilminster Lions, but not even they could sort out the weather.
And although there were periods when the sun came out, it was still cold and there was the occasional rain storm.
Thankfully the kiosk tuck shop at the recreation ground was open to keep visitors stocked up on tea and coffee.
Children had to go on a hunt around the recreation ground for letters located at various spots and then they had to spell out an Easter-themed message.
Funds raised from the event will go towards the costs for this summer’s Party on the Park event which will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at the Ilminster Recreation Ground.
