LEISURE: Fantastic country fete raises more than £8,000

AN AMAZING day of fundraising took place near Ilminster on Saturday (September 2, 2017) when well-known local florist Angie Blackwell held a charity country fete.
The fete was held at Sunnymead in Ilton and there was plenty for all the family to enjoy and visitors were blessed with glorious sunshine to help make the day even more perfect.
Angie, of award-winning Cottage Flowers in Ilminster, was delighted with the day and would like to thank everyone who either helped with the organisation of the fete, those who donated prizes and lent a hand on the day and all the people who turned up and enjoyed the event.
A whopping £8,200 had been raised – at the time of writing – with the proceeds going towards the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital and an outside classroom project at St Mary’s and St Peter’s Primary School in Ilton.
The Ilminster Press was delighted to pop along on Saturday and get some photos.
