LEISURE: 90s Disco to support Ile Youth Community Centre

SUPPORTERS of the Ile Youth Community Centre in Ilminster will be dusting off their dancing gear and strutting their best moves tonight (Saturday, July 30, 2016) during a fundraising 90s Disco at the Shrubbery Hotel.
All money raised from the event tonight at the Shrubbery Hotel will go towards funds for the community centre which is based in Frog Lane.
The proceeds will help with improving resources for the children who use the centre and to continue with the facelift of the centre.
The event is ticket-only and tickets – priced £5 – have been on sale from the Shrubbery Hotel and from organisers.
Cllr Philip Burton, of Ilminster Town Council, recently praised the likes of Katie Pitman and Gemma Pitman for their enthusiasm and tireless work in trying to make a real go of the centre.
“They are very pro-active, very enthusiastic and very positive,” he said.
A number of fundraising events have already been held in aid of the centre and Cllr Burton said he was under the impression that a Black Tie Dinner and Dance – with a James Bond theme – was also being planned for later in the year.
