LEISURE: Ilminster Belles hit right note at Yeovil Show

THE Ilminster Belles entertained the crowds this afternoon (Sunday, July 17, 2016) at the Yeovil Show with a super repertoire of songs.
The all-female choir performed on stage at the show – held at the Yeovil Showground site on Dorchester Road – from 2pm to 3pm and included well-known songs from the likes of Abba, Adele and Les Miserables.

Formed over 150 years ago the Yeovil Agricultural Society held the annual Yeovil Show on the first Thursday in September. The show continued for many years until the late 1960s, but it came to an end with the arrival of the Bath & West Show at Shepton Mallet.
But the return of the Yeovil Show held this weekend (July 16-17, 2016) has proved a massive success with thousands of visitors over the two days enjoying the livestock, sporting displays, demonstrations, entertainment, refreshments and live music.
The Ilminster Belles meet during school term time only at Greenfylde First School’s main hall on a Wednesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
