CLUBS AND SOCIETIES: A taste of cider for Ilminster twinners

FOUNDER member Rita Peasland has agreed to take on the role of chairman once again with Ilminster Twinning Association.

The association held its annual meeting at Ilminster Bowling Club this week and elected a new committee.

More than 40 members of the association were in attendance and were delighted when Rita agreed to take on the chairman’s position once more.

The association is now in its 21st year and Rita and her husband Steve, who are both founder members, have seen some exciting times and 2016 looks like being no exception with a trip planned to Ilminster’s twin town of Riec-sur-Belon in France later in the year.

The Rotary Club of Ilminster will host this year’s community lunch held during the Ilminster Experience weekend in June with an Anglo-French theme – with maybe even a competition to see which locals prefer, Somerset or Breton, the French apple tipple.
