SCHOOL NEWS: Sunshades for rainy days project gets funding support

THE Sunny Ile Pre-School in Ilminster has received a donation of £250 from the town’s Nyanza Lodge of Freemasons.
The money will be used for a new fundraising project at the pre-school, which is based on the Greenfylde First School site, entitled ‘sunshades for rainy days.’
The Master of the Lodge, Worshipful Brother Steve Albon, accompanied by the two wardens of the Lodge and charity steward, Worshipful Brother Martin Lock, made the presentation to pre-school leader Cheryl Herrick.
Cheryl said: “We would like to thank the Nyanza Lodge for their kind donation toward our project. We are currently trying to raise £5000 for new sun shades and an outdoor cover for our outside area.
“We operate a free flow system throughout the day and giving shade for the children will provide them with more opportunities to learn and play outside in all weathers.
“We are thankful for the Worshipful Master for his choosing us this year and helping towards our total.”
Freemasonry is very much part of the community in Ilminster, members come from all sections of society with a wide variety of interests.
