LEISURE: Great night of music planned for Children’s Hospice South West

A CHARITY concert in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West will be held at the Minster in Ilminster later year.
The concert will feature guests artists along with the likes of Jemima Farey, the Minster Voices and Zembard Singers.
The event on Saturday, October 21, 2017, is being organised by Martin Hudson and promises to be a fantastic evening of music.
Headlining the concert will be super talented singer-songwriter Jemima Farey who has been described as an up-and-coming talent on folk music scene.
Supporting the concert will be the Zembard Singers directed by Trevor Lloyd-Jones.
They will sing a wide variety of songs from sacred works to well-known classics by Bacharach and Hal David, and Richard Carpenter amongst others.
Also supporting the concert will be the Minster Voices directed by David Sutcliffe. Their repertoire will include traditional and contemporary songs from Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, Charles Trenet and others. Guest artists will also support the evening.
Interval refreshments will be available for donations, while there will also be a special raffle with some great prizes to be won with all proceeds going to the Children’s Hospice South West.
Tickets are priced £10 and available in advance from Martin Hudson on 01460-62075 or on the door on the night of the concert, which starts at 7pm, on October 21.
