SCHOOL NEWS: Finer things in life for Swanmead’s Kyle Jenkins

A POPULAR student at Swanmead School in Ilminster has received the MP Citizenship Award during the school’s annual evening of celebration.
Kyle Jenkins was presented with the award by the Deputy Mayor of Ilminster, Cllr Julie Fowler, on Wednesday (July 19, 2017) as part of Swanmead’s annual Celebration of Achievement Evening.
Headteacher Mark Walker said Kyle was a “very popular student” and thoroughly deserved the award.
He went on to say that Kyle liked the “finer of things in life” and during cooking lessons the student would not just stick to adding salt and pepper to his culinary creations, but bring in an entire spice rack.
And Mr Walker quipped that on one occasion Kyle had even asked if it was okay to add a “drop of Merlot” to his recipe.
The Citizenship Award is given to an outstanding school citizen who has been an inspiring leader in a variety of aspects of Swanmead life through positive involvement in school activities.
