SCHOOL NEWS: Bugsy Malone – aka Charlie Poole – wins endeavour award at Swanmead

A STUDENT at Swanmead School in Ilminster who took centre stage as the title role in the school’s production of Bugsy Malone last week was again grabbing the headlines this week.
Charlie Poole received the Lions Club Trophy for Endeavour during Swanmead’s annual Celebration of Achievement Evening on Wednesday (July 19, 2017) – which is arguably the highlight of the school’s calendar each year.
Headteacher Mark Walker congratulated Charlie on his achievements and for his excellent portrayal of Bugsy Malone in Swanmead’s production.
Charlie was presented with his award by Andrew Lawson, the new president of the Ilminster Lions Club.
The Lions Trophy for Endeavour is awarded to the student who has made the most of their educational opportunities in challenging circumstances.
