LEISURE: Fantastic concert at the McMillan Theatre

THERE are still a few tickets left for next month’s concert at the McMillan Theatre in Bridgwater with international singing star Lesley Garrett.

As part of Bridgwater Operatic Society’s ongoing 110th anniversary celebrations the group is delighted that the fabulous Lesley Garrett has agreed to perform in the town on Sunday, July 16, 2017, from 7.30pm.

People are invited to join one of Britain’s most popular soprano singers for a delightful evening of song, reminiscences and chat. Her behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes will give audiences a unique insight into her life on the stage and combined with her glorious singing will make it an evening to remember.

As well as performing with the English and Welsh National Operas, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Opera North, Lesley has recently starred in the West End in Carousel and The Sound of Music and appeared on television shows including Strictly Come Dancing and Loose Women.

She has also performed with artists as diverse as Michael Ball, Renee Fleming, Andrea Bocelli, Bryn Terfel and Lily Savage on her own television series.

A Bridgwater Operatic Society spokesman said: “This event is selling out quickly with only a handful of tickets left so don’t delay your booking.”
