SCHOOL NEWS: Hats the way to do it for World Book Day!

PUPILS and staff at Greenfylde First School in Ilminster have been celebrating World Book Day by coming to school wearing a hat that depicts a character from one of their favourite books.
Greenfylde’s headteacher Clare Oaten said: “We have had some amazing colourful creations and have had great fun trying to guess the books.”
World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and – most importantly – it is a celebration of reading.
Thursday, March 2, 2017, marks the 20th year there has been a World Book Day and children of all ages from around the world have come together to appreciate reading.
The main aim of World Book Day in the UK and Ireland is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading.
