SCHOOL NEWS: Neroche doubles Children in Need funds

NEROCHE Primary School’s very own school councillors near Ilminster began their Children in Need fundraising weeks ago to prepare for the big day last Friday (November 18, 2016).
From the School Council bank account the children purchased boxes of wristbands, Pudsey hair grips and Pudsey Key rings.
From 8.30am every morning for a week, the children set a stall up on the school playground in Broadway to sell their products to begin the fundraising.
Children in Need day itself on Friday saw the school enjoy a non-uniform day and a cake sale to boost the fundraising already carried out.
The final total raised by the school was a whopping £531 – double the previous year’s efforts.
Pupils Kelsey, Isla and Taylor, from Year Six, all said: “We love Children in Need - raising money for good causes is great!”
Neroche deputy headteacher Mrs Collins said: “The time and effort put in by our school council volunteers has been exemplary, the children’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to this cause has been wonderful.”
