LEISURE: Bottles needed for Mayor’s responsible tombola stall

THE Mayor of Ilminster will be holding separate tombola stalls at this weekend’s Party in the Park for adults and children – to avoid seeing under-age people win bottles of booze!
There will be a tombola with prizes of toys and games for the children and a “bottle” tombola for the adults during the event on Sunday (August 28, 2016) at the Ilminster Recreation Ground.
“There will be separate tomobolas for children and adults,” said the Mayor, Cllr Val Keitch. “I don’t want to be responsible for children being drunk on the recreation field!”
The Mayor has asked for donations of bottles for the adult’s tombola to be brought along on the day.
Cllr Keitch said she had plenty of prizes for the children’s tombola.
Money raised from the Mayor's very responsible tombola will go towards her Charity Fund. Cllr Keitch has not nominated any charities she will be supporting, but will ask local groups to apply for support early next year.
There will be a host of events on Sunday for Ilminster’s Party on the Park which starts at midday.
