SCHOOL NEWS: Excellent A-Level results at Holyrood Academy

STUDENTS at Holyrood Academy in Chard are celebrating an excellent set of A Level results with a 99.5% pass rate.
Headteacher Matthew Collins said: “we are delighted with our results this year. What is particularly pleasing is that a record number of A* grades were achieved, with 21% of all exams taken resulting in A and A* grades and 44% achieving A* - B grades.
“Our students have met the demanding entrance requirements to study at some of the best Universities in the country.”
Mr Collins added: “The results were thoroughly deserved by this group of students and are testament to their attitude and hard work over the last two years. I would also like to thank the teaching staff for the incredible amount of work they have put in to supporting this group of students.”
In addition Holyrood’s BTEC Level 3 students did exceptionally with 75% of results being Distinction*/Distinction.
Holyrood’s executive principal Martin Brook added: “As an Academy we see these results as a step towards the next stage in our development.
“We intend to continue to grow the sixth form at Holyrood in the next few years both in terms of the number of students we attract and the number of subjects we can offer and we are very much looking forward to many more successes in the future.”
