SCHOOL NEWS: Street party to celebrate Queen’s 90th birthday

FUNDRAISERS at Neroche Primary School near Ilminster are busy organising a street party at the school later this summer to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.

The Parent and Family Association at the school is to hold the party on Sunday, June 12, 2016, between 11am and 3pm to coincide with the national street party for the Queen at the Mall in London.

The school at Broadway is inviting other community groups in the Ilminster area to come and join the school in this once in a lifetime celebration.SCHOOL NEWS: Street party to celebrate Queen’s 90th birthday

A range of music, stalls and food have already been planned for the children and community but the school would love to open this event up for the whole community to enjoy.

Headteacher Connel Boyle (pictured right) said “We have a fantastic opportunity to create a memorable local event that our whole community can be proud of.

“On behalf of Neroche Primary School I would like to invite other community groups and organisations to come and share the day with us.”

If any local groups are interested in joining the party, please contact Kate Barnes, the PFA chairman, on 01460-52664 or please email the school on sch.067@educ.somerset.gov.uk .
