ILMINSTER AREA NEWS: Serious car crash – one casualty in critical condition

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision near Ilminster this morning (Monday, April 25, 2016).
The incident happened at about 7.45am on the B3168 near to Whitelackington and involved two cars which blocked the road. Two people were injured in the collision.
A man in a Volkswagen Golf, who was not seriously injured, was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
Another man, who was in a Daewoo Matiz, was seriously injured and taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a critical condition.
The road was re-opened at about 2.15pm.
A police spokesman said: “Collision investigators are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident who may have information to help their enquiries.”
Anyone able to help is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 101 quoting log 0131 AE of today (Monday, April 25, 2016).
