SCHOOL NEWS: Favourite book inspires scarecrow creation

READING books certainly helped youngsters in Greenfylde First School recently when its reception classes turned one of its favourite books into a scarecrow for the Ilminster Midsummer Experience.
Using sticks and leaves they created Julia Donaldson’s Stickman and proudly displayed him by the front gates of school.
Stickman was a huge success and the pupils are now celebrating a second place in the annual Scarecrow Competition and what will they be doing with their prize?
Buying new books, of course, to inspire them for next year’s Scarecrow creation!
