SCHOOL NEWS: What did the Romans do for us?

PUPILS at Greenfylde First School in Ilminster were transported back in time when they were treated to a visit by John Smith who is affectionately known as the Roman Man.
John was able to bring to life the Roman era for pupils in Lower Key Stage Two who are currently doing it as a school project.
He was able to tell them about the dress, weapons, soldiers and everyday life in the Roman era.
The children also performed some basic Latin commands as a whole working army.
Headteacher Claire Oaten said: “The children really enjoyed the visit and gained a lot of knowledge to help them with their learning this term.”
