SCHOOL NEWS: Puppets teach children about prejudice and bullying
CHILDREN and staff at Greenfylde First School in Ilminster welcomed Pete the Poet into school to do some work on cultural diversity.
Everyone had an informative and fun session learning about differences and tolerance.
Using puppets Pete told stories involving prejudice and bullying in a way that was easy for the children to understand.
Every child had a puppet and was part of the story. They also used simple rhythms and patterns to develop and create new poems to perform together.
Even children who are often shy and retiring got fully involved and a wonderful time was had by all.
