SCHOOL NEWS: Sunny Ile welcome Ilminster firefighters

THE Sunny Ile Pre School – which is part of Greenfylde First School in Ilminster – was very lucky to take part in supporting Save the Children Den Building Day.
Sunny Ile was invited to see the fireman and fire engine from Ilminster Fire Station who were there to support the Forest School’s event of building a den which could withstand extreme weather conditions.
The children had lots of fun exploring the engine, learning about the different tools and even squirting water with the hose at Barry the Fireman.
Pre school leader, Cheryl Herrick, said: “The whole afternoon was enjoyed by all, the children loved learning about the fire engine and we enjoyed having our den squirted by the water hose.
“We would like to thank all the crew from Ilminster Fire Station for helping the children learn about different occupation in a very enjoyable way.”
