EDUCATION: Sixth Form info evening at Holyrood

HOLYROOD Academy in Chard will be holding its annual Sixth Form Information Evening later today (Thursday, October 20, 2016) from 6pm where students and their parents will be able to learn more about an exciting new range of academic and vocational courses for 2017.
A Holyrood spokesman said: “Come and meet our students and staff to learn about the full programme of extra-curricular activities which are available to complement each individual’s journey.
“We believe our structured pastoral support; combined with regular tutorials and a Living Life Programme offer a unique and firm foundation to our students as they progress through this essential next-step in their education.
“Opportunities to travel to Morocco, India, Iceland along with field trips to support further learning are all available. We guarantee students a place to complete the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award including the expedition section in wild country.”
Holryood vice principal and director of Sixth Form, Dave MacCormick, and head of Sixth Form, Karen Seib, will introduce the evening at 6pm and share their “strategic vision” for the academy.
There will be escorted tours of the facilities and ample opportunity to meet with tutors, teachers and existing students.
