ILMINSTER NEWS: May edition of Ilminster Press community newspaper is flying off the shelves

HAVE you got yourself a copy of the May edition of the free Ilminster Press community newspaper?

This month’s bumper 48-page edition is packed with news and photos from Ilminster and surrounding area.

The publication includes a 16-page preview of next month’s Ilminster Literary Festival and Ilminster Midsummer Experience with lots of information about the two popular annual events.

There is also a two-page photo special from the recent Ilminster Town Criers Competition, plus a picture spread from Ilminster Entertainments Society’s run of the J. B. Priestley play Dangerous Corner.

Ilminster Press editor Steve Sowden said: “Many thanks for all your messages of congratulations and best wishes with last month’s edition being Number 12 – to mean that the Ilminster Press is one-year-old.

“The past year has whizzed by and again that is thanks to Ilminster for making my job such a pleasure with plenty of things going on to report about and meeting such great people.

“Once again I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the advertisers – without whom the Ilminster Press would not happen.

“A special big thank you to freelance photographer Christine Jones for her pictures, hard work, enthusiasm and encouragement.

“And I would also like to thank James Healey, of JRH Media, for his superb help with design and layout each month.”

Steve added: “Plus I would like to thank the various outlets who have agreed to take copies of Ilminster Press each month; the advertisers once again for their support; and, of course, the readers for your contributions and words of support.”

The next edition of Ilminster Press will be out in mid-June. So please get in touch with any events you would like covered and featured in the paper or send your news, views and photos to Steve at ilminsterpress@gmail.com .

The May edition of Ilminster Press is available in all the usual outlets in and around Ilminster.
