SOMERSET NEWS: Show goes on for Elvis tribute act – despite thieves stealing his van

THE show has gone on for popular Somerset-based Elvis tribute act Barry Paull – even though he was left “all shook up” when his van containing his music act equipment including the all-important glittering suits and belts which turn the singer into the King of Rock and Roll – had been stolen.
Barry, who has performed his Elvis tribute act for many years, has put out an appeal for information on social media about his Ford Transit – registration YG59 RHY – which was stolen from Ilminster sometime between 11pm on Sunday (January 28, 2018) and 7am on Monday (January 29, 2018).
The van has crew seats inside, slide door and glass panels all the way round.
The appeal has been shared thousands of times by people to help Barry in his search for the van.

Barry has been a big supporter of charity and many of his Elvis gigs have raised thousands of pounds for various groups, organisations and charities.
“Please help to find my van which has all of music equipment and Elvis suits inside along with my signs saying Barry Paull Elvis,” he said.
But Barry has not allowed the thieves to stop him from continuing with the Elvis act and he was back performing on Tuesday (January 30, 2018) night at Bournemouth – having been able to borrow some of the equipment to replace what had been stolen.
His wife, Dominique, speaking on social media, said: “The thieves might have stolen our van, equipment and costumes – but that hasn’t stopped Barry from going out and entertaining.
“Thank you for everyone’s help with equipment and the lovely messages. It’s been heart-warming.”
Barry, who is a firefighter with the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, has offered a reward for anybody providing information which could lead to the recovery of the van and its contents.
If you can help – please contact police on 101 or Barry Paull on 07708-239470.
