ILMINSTER NEWS: Crossing patrol absence warning

PARENTS and carers of children have been told that there will be no crossing patrol service later this month in a busy part of Ilminster.
The headteacher of Swanmead School, Mark Walker, has announced that there will be no “lollipop patrol” person on duty on High Street/Butts from May 22-26, 2017.
“We encourage parents to have a conversation with their children about this in order to encourage the safe crossing of this road during this period,” said Mr Walker. “We apologise for this break in the crossing service.”
But Mr Walker said that normal patrol service would resume following the half-term break on Monday, June 5, 2017.
