ILMINSTER NEWS: Dodgy £20 notes doing the rounds

SHOPPERS and shop staff in Ilminster are being urged to be on their guard against fake £20 notes in circulation.

Police have reported dodgy £20 notes being used in two locations in Ilminster in recent weeks.

Investigations are ongoing, but police have asked people to be aware.

The warning was made during Ilminster Town Council’s meeting last Tuesday (January 17, 2017).

There were similar incidents a few weeks ago in Chard where fake £20 notes had been used in local shops.

Anyone with information about fake £20 notes can contact police on 101.
