ILMINSTER AREA NEWS: Lorry fire on Ilminster Bypass

FIREFIGHTERS were called out this afternoon (Wednesday, August 31, 2016) to deal with a lorry on fire on the Ilminster Bypass.
The alarm was raised at just after 12.30pm to the problem on the westbound carriageway and fire engines from Ilminster and Martock were mobilised.
They found a lorry carrying scrap metal had pulled over into a layby with smoke issuing from its wheel.
Firefighters discovered a small fire within a brake drum due to overheating.
