ILMINSTER NEWS: Cottage Flowers at The Chelsea of the West

THE Cottage Flowers team from Ilminster will be at this weekend’s prestigious Taunton Flower Show which is popularly known as The Chelsea of the West.
Cottage Flowers will be based in the Plant Village of the flower show and will have an abundance of plants and flowers on display, while proprietor and well-known florist Angie Blackwell will be creating wedding bouquets.
“If you are going along to the Taunton Flower Show this weekend come and find us in the Plant Village and say hello,” said Angie. "It will be wonderful to see you."
Thousands of people will be descending on Vivary Park for this weekend’s Taunton Flower Show which is described as The Chelsea of the West in appreciation to the famous Chelsea Flower Show in London.

The show – which attracts nearly 25,000 people over the two days – was first held in 1866 and apart from during the Second World War it has been held every year since.
The show opens to members only at 9.30am today (Friday, August 5, 2016) and then from 10.30am for the general public before closing at 7pm.
The show re-opens tomorrow (Saturday, August 6, 2016) at 10am for all visitors and then the show closes at 6pm.

Cottage Flowers, which is based in East Street in Ilminster, will be found at show stand number 10 in the Plant Village with a selection of beautiful seasonal flowers and plants for home and garden.
