ILMINSTER NEWS: You’re hired! Town council looks for an apprentice

ILMINSTER Town Council has a vacancy for an apprentice to join its open spaces department.
The council is looking for a person who likes working outside, would like to get experience of grounds maintenance and is able to deal with members of the public in a “polite and friendly manner.”
A council spokesman said: “The successful applicant will undertake the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Work Based Horticulture.”
The applicant who lands the job with Ilminster Town Council might not be awarded the same sort of financial package as that given by Lord Sugar to the winner of his popular TV reality show The Apprentice, but it might put them on the path to a permanent full-time job.
For an application pack – contact the town council on 01460-52149, email town.council@ilminster.gov.uk or download a form from www.ilminster.gov.uk .
