ILMINSTER AREA NEWS: Shooting Update – Police urge on-the-run Charlie Broadway to give himself up

POLICE have appealed to Charlie Broadway – wanted in connection with a fatal shooting near Ilminster – to hand himself in.
Charlie Broadway, 23, remains wanted by the investigation team following the shooting at the Chubbards Cross Caravan Site, near Ilton, shortly before 8pm last night (Thursday, May 5, 2016).
As a result of this a man in his 50s and a second man, in his 20s, was injured. These injuries are not life threatening.
Two people have already been arrested in connection with this incident and are in police custody.
Police are using all available units to locate Charlie Broadway including firearms officers, the helicopter and a large number of police officers.
The family of the victim are being supported by specially trained officers.
Head of the major crime investigation team, Detective Superintendent Andy Bevan, said: “We would like to reassure local communities that this was a domestic incident, contained to one site. All those involved were known to each other.
“We’re using every resource avialable to us, including the helicopter, to locate and arrest Charlie Broadway but I would appeal directly to him to hand himself in now.
“We don’t believe that he poses a significant risk to the wider community, but anyone who sees him should not approach him, but call us immediately on 999.
“We have arrested a man and a woman in connection with this inquiry and they remain in custody.
“Anyone wishing to report any sightings of Charlie Broadway should contact us immediately on 999 quoting log number 1051 of May 5.”
