ILMINSTER AREA NEWS: Fatal shooting at Ilton – police hunt for Charlie Broadway

A FAST-MOVING investigation into a fatal shooting incident near Ilminster has continued throughout the night.
Charlie Broadway, 23, remains wanted by the investigation team following the shooting at a residential site near Ilton, not far from Ilminster, shortly before 8pm last night (Thursday, May 5, 2016), which resulted in the death of one man and left a second man with non-life-threatening injuries.
Ch Supt Jon Reilly said: “We’re using every necessary resource to investigate these serious offences and our main priority is to locate and arrest Charlie Broadway.
“We have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with this inquiry and he has been taken into custody.
“We’re continuing to warn the public not to approach Charlie Broadway but to report any sightings to us immediately via 999, quoting log number 1051 of May 5.”
Late last night police released details of 23-year-old Charlie Broadway who is wanted in connection with the shooting.
Ch Supt Jon Reilly said: “A full investigation is under way into this serious incident involving a firearm which we believe is of a domestic nature.
“We’re using all necessary resources to trace 23-year-old Charlie Broadway in connection with these offences.
“Due to the gravity of what happened, Charlie Broadway is potentially armed and as a result poses a risk to the public."
