YOUTH FOOTBALL: Ilminster Tigers roar to championship success

THERE were celebrations last night (Wednesday, May 4, 2016) for Ilminster Tigers Under-14s as they clinched the Division Two championship trophy in the Yeovil and District Youth Football League.
A 2-1 success over Merriott Wildcats Under-14s at the Ilminster Recreation Ground secured the title for the Tigers who are part of the Ilminster Town Youth FC.
They have enjoyed a terrific season having won 11 of their 14 league matches and losing just two games.
Their victory last night saw them leapfrog above rivals Lyde United Tigers Under-14s, of Yeovil, to take the title by a solitary point.
The Ilminster Press would like to congratulate everyone involved with Ilminster Tigers on a job well done.
