FOOTBALL: Game called off as Ilminster Town wish injured duo speedy recovery

ILMINSTER Town’s planned Somerset County League Premier Division match with Middlezoy on Saturday (January 20, 2018) at the Archie Gooch Pavilion was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Recent heavy rain took its toll and the postponement was sadly inevitable and now the club hopes the weather will improve over the next few days as Ilminster Town are at home again next Saturday (January 27, 2018) with a re-arranged league fixture against Wells City Reserves in a 2pm kick-off.
It has been a bad week for the Blues with the news that Adam Male broke his cheekbone last Saturday (January 13, 2018) against league leaders Chilcompton and will be out for sometime while club captain Jonny May is also out for a while as he waits for a scan on his knee.
A club spokesman said: “Both players have been outstanding this season with Jonny May well deserving of a call-up to the Somerset League representative team with some excellent displays, while Adam Male has not only stepped up to the first team this season from the reserves , but played in a number of different positions, and never once looked out of place.
“We would like to wish them both a speedy recovery.”
