ILMINSTER NEWS: Music teacher left heartbroken over instrument theft

A MUSIC teacher has been left devastated after much-loved musical instruments were stolen from her car.
Catherine Grice, of Ilminster, who teaches music at a number of schools in Somerset, got to work this morning (Thursday, May 5, 2016) and discovered that a flute had gone missing.
And then when she went to get a clarinet from the boot of her car she found that had gone as well.
She returned to her home Fairfields in Ilminster and found that teaching books that had also been in her car had been found in a pile in a neighbour’s drive.
“This must have happened overnight or this morning,” she told the Ilminster Press.
“My dad bought me the flute which is also engraved. I have played it in exams, concerts, recitals, friends weddings – it is so special.
“My flute has huge sentimental value and I am heartbroken that it has gone. If anyone hears where these instruments are – please get in touch.”
Her appeal for help is already being shared far and wide on social media.
Police have been notified of the incident and the incident had been given a crime reference number of 5216096824.
Anyone with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
