ILMINSTER NEWS: Restricted access from Canal Way onto Britten’s Field

ILMINSTER Town Council has announced that work to connect utilities to the new football and community facility means that access from Canal Way onto Britten’s Field will be restricted during April and May.
The work will be done in two phases. During the first phase there will be limited access by walking around the tennis courts and the northern end of the Canal.
During the second phase there will be no access to Britten’s Field from Canal Way.
A council statement said: “The restrictions and closure are necessary to keep the public safe as a large trench will be dug to lay and connect services such as water and electric to the new building.”
It is anticipated work will start in mid-April and last approximately six weeks.
