ILMINSTER NEWS: Macmillan thanks Ilminster for its support

A CHQUE for £2,120 has been presented to Macmillan Cancer Support following a hugely successful coffee morning held at the Minster Rooms in Ilminster as part of the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning initiative in September.
Co-organiser Julie Fowler said: “We had tremendous support from local businesses and voluntary organisations as well as the wonderful community of Ilminster.
“A big thank you goes to all those who gave so generously of their time and effort as well as those who supported the event on the day. It is a marvellous result and could not have been achieved without great team work from everyone.”
This year Angie Blackwell, of Cottage Flowers, organised a cake delivery service to local shops and businesses which proved very popular.
The cheque was handed over to Genevieve Drinkwater, regional fundraiser for the Somerset branch of Macmillan Cancer Support.
“This is a terrific boost to our funds and represents the largest amount raised in the area - thank you Ilminster for your tremendous support,” she said.
