ILMINSTER NEWS: Shudrick Lane doesn’t start and stop at Tesco car park

DRIVERS have been urged to remember to use caution when leaving the Tesco car park in Ilminster following a number of near misses.
The police have reported concerns about vehicles pulling out of the car park in Shudrick Lane and forgetting to look left for oncoming motorists and thinking that everyone coming from the Ditton Street end is going to turn into Tesco.
“There are concerns about cars pulling out of Tesco without realising the Shudrick Lane road goes further along,” a police spokesman told a recent meeting of Ilminster Town Council.
A “Give Way” sign is already placed at the car park exit to advise motorists leaving Tesco, but it has been suggested that perhaps enhanced signage should be installed.
