ILMINSTER NEWS: Nominations wanted for annual Bradley Cullen Youth Citizens Award

NOMINATIONS are needed for the annual Bradley Cullen Youth Citizens Award which looks to recognise a young inspirational person in Ilminster.

Bradley was born with a serious illness, but lived life to the full and was a popular member of the community before he sadly passed away in 2013 at the age of just 15.

But his name lives on with the Bradley Cullen Youth Citizens Award which is being presented by Ilminster Town Council at its annual community assembly later this year.

Do you know a young person who has done something brilliant for Ilminster?  Do you think that they deserve recognition?  If the answer is yes, then what are you waiting for?  All you need to do is to complete a nomination form explaining why you think the young person should receive the award.  For example, this could be because of overcoming adversity, participation in the community, personal achievement and caring for others.

Nomination forms can be obtained from Ilminster Town Council Offices, North Street between 10 – 12 pm Monday to Friday or by emailing town.council@ilminster.gov.uk or downloading from the Town Council website www.ilminster.gov.uk
The closing date for the receipt of nominations is Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

The name of the award winner will be announced at the Annual Community Assembly on May 9, 2017.

Nominees and those making the nominations for the Young Citizen’s Award must either live in the parish of Ilminster or attend one of the Ilminster schools.

Nominations must be signed by three individuals and nominations are not accepted from organisations or societies, while nominees should not be told of their nomination.

Nominees must be aged under 18 years and the awards may be issued posthumously provided that the nomination closing date is no more than one year since the nominee deceased.
