ILMINSTER: Cop shop flats given approval

PLANS to turn the former Ilminster Police Station into seven flats have been given permission by South Somerset District Council.
Ilminster Estates Ltd has been given the go-ahead to make alterations and convert the former police station at the Butts, Ilminster, along with a first floor extension to an existing storage building, to create the flats.
The development will comprise five two-bed and two one-bedroom flats along with parking facilities.
The plans also include the construction of cycle and bin stores.
The proposals were supported by Ilminster Town Council when its planning, highways and transport committee met on February 7, 2017.
A final decision notice of approval was made by South Somerset District Council on Thursday (March 30, 2017).
