ILMINSTER NEWS: Retirement lunch for long serving firefighter

A RECEPTION lunch has been held for Ilminster man Mark English who has retired after nearly 18 years as a firefighter in the town.
Mark officially hung up his hose at Christmas, but a belated send-off lunch with colleagues was held at the Shrubbery Hotel in Ilminster on Sunday (April 2, 2017).
He had served with the Fire Service since 1999 and said he had worked with a “great bunch of lads” during that time.
“I’ve got lots of great memories from my time and I’ll definitely miss it,” he said. “But things change and it was the right thing for me to call it a day.”
Messages on social media have thanked Mark for all his efforts in helping to keep the town safe.
