ILMINSTER NEWS: Cook up a treat for Fairtrade Fortnight

THE Ilminster Fairtrade group is looking for people who fancy themselves as a bit of Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood.
The group is supporting Fairtrade Fortnight from last Monday (February 27, 2017) through to Sunday, March 12, 2017, and one of the initiatives it is running is a Fairtrade Bake-Off.
A group spokesman said: “This is a chance for people to prove their baking prowess.
“They need to pop into Ilminster Cooperative and pick up the February edition of Food Magazine.
“Inside on pages 52-53 they will find a Fairtrade Chocolate and Banana Loaf Cake recipe. People can also download the receipt on this link https://main-coopfoodmagazine-rivergroup.content.pugpig.com/2017/01/11/fairtrade-cocoa/pugpig_index.html .
“Using Fairtrade ingredients, where indicated, we are inviting people to bake your best loaf and bring it along for judging at the Market House on Saturday, March 4, 2017, from 11am.
“Our judges are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to get their teeth into the cakes and choose a worthy winner. Who will be crowned this year’s Fairtrade Bake-Off champion?”
