ILMINSTER NEWS: Club offers condolences to Keith Harper’s family

ILMINSTER Cricket Club has announced the sad news that Life Member and long-time supporter Keith Harper has died.
Mr Harper passed away peacefully at Yeovil District Hospital on Thursday (November 24, 2016) after a bravely fought illness.
He started playing both cricket and football in the early 1960s and during his time with Ilminster CC over the years he was 1st XI captain, Sunday XI captain, club chairman, treasurer, fixtures secretary, club secretary and groundsman.
A club spokesman said: “Keith was also a youth team manager and was secretary of the sports club which he helped to build.
“Keith was a lovely man and he will be sadly missed by family and friends. Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.”
The funeral takes place on Monday, December 12, 2016, at 11am at Taunton Crematorium. The wake will be held at Ilminster Bowling Club afterwards.
News of Mr Harper’s death comes just a few weeks after a fellow Ilminster CC Life Member, Tony Rice, also died.
