FOOTBALL: Ilminster Town want three-point hauls rather than 3-3 draws!

ILMINSTER Town FC are back in action this afternoon (Saturday, October 15, 2016) at the Archie Gooch Pavilion and looking to return to winning ways.
The Blues have drawn their last two fixtures in Division One West with both of them being six-goal thrillers.
Last Saturday’s (October 8, 2016) 3-3 draw at the Archie Gooch Pavilion saw Ilminster come from 3-1 down at half-time against Highbridge Town to gain a share of the spoils with a dramatic last-gasp penalty.
Ilminster were given a headache before kick-off when their regular keeper became unavailable just 30 minutes before the start and so normal centre-half Jonny Manley had to take on the gloves.
But despite the last-minute switch in personnel, Ilminster started brightly and took the lead through Taylor Jefferson.
Highbridge, however, soon got into their stride and impressive winger Christopher Taylor netted a hat-trick before the interval.
Ilminster regrouped during the half-time break and Matt Brown reduced the deficit before Jefferson netted his second of the afternoon from the penalty spot just before the final whistle.
The result saw Ilminster slip down to third on goal difference from leaders Somerton Town and second-placed Portishead Town Reserves.
Ilminster will look to get back to three-point hauls rather than 3-3 draws this afternoon when Burnham United are the visitors to the Archie Gooch Pavilion in a 3pm kick-off.
