ILMINSTER NEWS: Fire Service apologises over wrong car wash info

THE Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has apologised to Ilminster people for putting out false information about a planned charity car wash at the town’s fire station.
The DSFRS announced earlier this week that firefighters from Ilminster would be hosing down people’s cars in return for a donation to the Fire Fighters Charity – the UK’s leading provider of services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired Fire Service personnel and their families – later today (Saturday, September 17, 2016).
But after the Ilminster Press was notified locally that that was not the case, the DSFRS has apologised for the error.
“I don’t know what happened there, but there is no car wash in Ilminster and there was never planned to be one,” said a Fire Service spokesman.
