SOMERSET NEWS: Woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Glastonbury yesterday (Wednesday, September 14, 2016).
The incident took place at approximately 2pm on the High Street. A 32-year-old woman was assaulted and left with serious injuries and she remains in hospital in a stable condition.
A police spokesman said: “We believe a weapon may have been used during the incident.
“As a result of our enquiries, we arrested a 44-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder. She has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
The spokesman added: “We need to speak to anyone who was in the High Street at this time and may have witnessed the incident.”
