ILMINSTER AREA NEWS: Firefighters race to cooker fire reports

FIREFIGHTERS from Chard and Ilminster were mobilised this afternoon (Wednesday, August 31, 2016) following reports of a cooker on fire.

The alarm was raised at just before 4.30pm to the problem at Bishopswood Road in Buckland St Mary near Ilminster.

Firefighters discovered that the fire was out by the time they had arrived, but they made a check of the area.

The fire was confined to a tea towel and the cause was accidental, said a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
