ILMINSTER NEWS: The Shed restoration is coming along nicely

WORK on improving and restoring The Shed at the Ilminster Recreation Ground is progressing well.

Ilminster Cricket Club have taken on the responsibility of The Shed following Ilminster Town Football Club’s move to the newly-built Archie Gooch Pavilion in the adjoining Britten’s Field.

The roof has been completely transformed and once everything is done it is hoped it will become another social facility Ilminster can be proud of.

Club captain Sam Spurway, speaking on social media, has praised everyone involved in the project.

“Have to say the clubhouse is looking brilliant so far,” he said. “It will be amazing when finished. Hats off to all involved.”

People have been so impressed with the work carried out that they have said tongue-in-cheek that it actually no longer looks like The Shed!
