ILMINSTER NEWS: Quiet please! Pray silence for Tesco’s Helena

CHATTERBOX Helena Jones has given herself a real challenge tomorrow (Friday, August 19, 2016) when she takes part in a sponsored silence to help raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The community champion at Ilminster’s Tesco store will be trying to stay silent from 10am to 6pm – a marathon eight hours which will prove a huge ask for someone who freely admits likes nothing better than to chat!
Helena said: “It is going to be really difficult for me! But please come on down to the Tesco store – it would be great to have your support, although I won’t be able to thank you verbally!”
There will be a collecting bucket in the store for people wanting to make donations to the MND Association.

Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive disease that attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles which leads to weakness and wasting.
The MND Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning.
Helena said: “The charity does an amazing amount of work and so every donation will be most welcome.”
She is taking part in the charity’s Silence Speaks for Motor Neurone Disease with the belief that the “more who join our silence, the louder our voice.”
