ILMINSTER NEWS: Deep regret that Hilltop Tyres is to close

A LONG-STANDING Ilminster business has announced on social media that it is to close at the end of the month.
Hilltop Tyres – based at Station Road – is to close on August 31, 2016, due to the expiry of its lease.
Managing director of the Kings Road Tyres Group, Adrian Bader, said in a statement to customers that it was with “deep regret” that its tyre fitting service, Hilltop Tyres, was to close.
“Tyre fitting and auxiliary services have been operated from this site for nearly four decades over which time our staff have provided people and businesses in Ilminster and surrounding areas with a first-class quality fitting service.
“I would like to take this opportunity of thanking our many loyal trade and retail customers for their patronage over these many years.
“In particular I must mention and thank all staff, past and present, for their hard work, skills and above all, their excellent service to the local community.”
People have gone on to social media to express their disappointment at the news with many saying that Hilltop Tyres had provided a superb service to the town and surrounding area.
One person wrote: “This will be a great loss to Ilminster. You have been serving the community and the surrounding areas with a service of renowned quality and reliability for years.”
Another wrote: “Shocking news. The Hilltop Tyres team has always given a first class service and it’s a rare occasion to drive past and not see them busy.
“I’m going to find it hard to find another bunch of guys who I know I can trust with my cars.”
