SOMERSET NEWS: Man rescued after vehicle ends up in ditch

A MAN had to be released from a vehicle which had ended up in a roadside ditch near Bridgwater.
Two fire engines from Bridgwater were called out at just after 12.15pm today (Sunday, August 14, 2016) to the problem on the A372 Westonzoyland Road at Westonzoyland.
“On arrival the crews confirmed that there was a vehicle in a roadside ditch with a male medically and physically trapped inside,” said a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. “They got to work stabilising the vehicle prior to attempting to get the person out.
“The male was successfully released from the vehicle and left in the hands of paramedics on scene.”
Firefighters made the area and vehicle safe and then left the incident in the hands of the police.
